Banks warn on scam

 

The much talked about multi-million scam which allegedly hit a local bank remains a rumor until documents are received to confirm such report.

This was the statement issued by Deo Uy, vice president for external affairs of the Bohol Bankers Association after emerging from an emergency meeting of bank managers at JJ's Seafood Village yesterday afternoon.

Gov't to set up sea lanes

GUIMARAS. The government will soon establish sea lanes for vessels carrying oil and other hazardous chemicals to keep them away from "ecologically sensitive areas" and avert an environmental disaster similar to the recent oil spill here, according to Tourism Secretary Ace Durano.

In Manila, Justice Secretary Raul Gonzalez created a special task force to determine who should be held liable for the oil spill.
