A
Message of Hope on Christmas To
many people, it has become fashionable to complain, gripe and whine about Christmas.
The natural calamities that befell certain areas of our country, the uncertainties
in the political arena, the economic crisis, the deteriorating peace and order
situation in other parts of the country, these and others have been blamed for
a bleak Christmas celebration.
Jesus
Christ however did not come into a perfect world. He came precisely because we
are a world beset by inequality, inhumanity and tragedy. He never said that all
this will end after His coming.
The
message of Christmas is the message of hope. It teaches to hope, trust and believe
that the best is yet to come. With His coming, there is no such thing as a hopeless
situation, only people who have lost hope.
There
will always be those who want to see the dark side of things instead of the brighter
colors. There will always be those who prefer to curse the darkness instead of
lighting the candle.
This
Christmas, let us reflect upon the significance of the birth of Jesus Christ.
If God sent His only Son to earth, it can only mean one thing: there is still
hope regardless of what the doomsayers say. God is never mistaken.
Let
us celebrate Christmas then because of what we have instead of sulking because
of what we don't have. Let us celebrate Christmas because of the hope that Jesus
Christ brings.
People
who hope know the best years of their lives are ahead of them. If we choose to
hope and believe, then can we truly celebrate. Merry Christmas! Greetings
