The
city Administration party invites the Opposition for unification talks.
The
unification talks take place at the residence of a city councilor in the presence
of the governor, a board member, and the city councilor.
The
city Administration party promises that the opposition candidate will be supported
in the next election. The candidate for mayor promises that if he wins, he will
vacate his position six months before the date of the next election to run for
a higher position. The
Administration party promises that there will be no reclamation project in the
city.
The
foregoing scenario took place sometime in 2000 before the 2001 elections.
Were
the terms and conditions of the unification talks fulfilled? The answer is very
obvious. The Administration party did not only fulfill its promises, but it also
mounted vicious personal attacks against the Opposition candidate.

Now,
the city Administration party is proposing another unification talks. We hope
that there will be the same venue, and the same people acting as witnesses.
But
some politicians lest forget that when a bridge is burned to destruction, nobody
can pass it anymore.

A
certain politician said that politics is the game of the devil.
This
statement is uncalled for, as it is not a good example for the youth. Politics
is necessary for the community and country. Who will run the government? Certainly,
government is run by politicians.

We,
the advocates for good governance, foresee the emergence of new politicians who
have the moral authority to govern. Politicians with a good moral foundation are
what we are looking for.
