Bishop Medroso installed today, 6th bishop of Tagbilaran Diocese

 

Most Rev. Fernando Filoni, D.D. apostolic nuncio in the Philippines and dean of the Diplomatic Corps will install Bishop Leonardo Y. Medroso as the new bishop of the Diocese of Tagbilaran, vice Bishop Leopoldo Tumulak who was earlier appointed bishop of the military ordinariate of the Philippines, but was appointed as diocesan administrator while waiting for the assumption of the new bishop.

The Canonical possession of the diocese of Tagbilaran with Medroso installed as the new bishop is set at 9:30 this morning at the St. Joseph Cathedral.

PNP ready to move in if
CBCP rally gets unruly

A spokesman for the Philippine National Police (PNP) warned yesterday that the police will be forced to "move in" if participators of the Church-initiated prayer rally become unruly.

"If the situation requires... once a public assembly becomes violent the police will have to move in," Senior Superintendent Samuel Pagdilao Jr., PNP spokesman, told ABS-CBN's Magandang Umaga Pilipinas.

He said the police will move in accordance with existing laws or The Public Assembly Act of 1985.
