3 Ubay robbery suspects nabbed
By KIT BAGAIPO

Three suspects of a series of armed robberies in Ubay town were caught in a hot pursuit operation last Saturday after victimizing a minor along the national highway in barangay Bongbong of said town.

The three were presented yesterday to PNP Bohol Director P/SSupt. Arturo Evangelista at Camp Dagohoy, this city, along with three other separate complainants who positively identified the suspects.

The suspects identifed as Rene Golosino, 23; Avelino Autor, 22; and Albert Dinulan, 21, all single and residents of barangay Pagasa, Ubay are believed to be members of a robbery group, numbering more than 20, that victimized Ubay residents.

Police were able to pursue the three suspects less than 24 hours after they victimized a minor identified as Melissa Palaca, a resident of barangay Bongbong, together with her companion, Ryan Senobio of Lumangob.

In an interview with Palaca, who volunteered to accompany the suspects in Camp Dagohoy, she was walking along the national highway of barangay Bongbong together with Senobio, around 6:30 in the evening of Nov. 3, when the three suspects, aboard a motorcycle, accosted them and snatched her cellphone.

Fortunately, Senobio was able to identify one of the suspects, Autor, due to a previous brawling incident involving him and the latter.

The victims immediately reported the incident to Bongbong chair Guamirorie Basilad Delada, who sought police assistance.

Senobio told police he knew one of their assailants and immediately went to the suspect's residence in barangay Pagasa.

However, the suspect, Autor, did not come home until the next morning, Saturday, only to find out police were already posted near his residence and readily arrested him.

Autor later disclosed to Ubay police his two cohorts, Dinulan and Golosino who were also nabbed in their homes.

Ubay PNP chief P/Supt. Eduardo Saavedra immediately informed other robbery victims who came to the municipal police station and positively identified to the three suspects as their attackers.

OTHER COMPLAINANTS

Other complainants who positively identified the three suspects are Sara Alison Bireng, a resident of barangay Lumangog; and Susan Bucio, resident of barangay Calanggaman both in Ubay town.

Bireng was held up while on her way home last September 12, in barangay Lumangog. The suspects also took her cellphone and personal effects.

Meanwhile, Bucio's store in Calanggaman was burglarized while the suspects tied her up before fleeing with an amount of cash and merchandise items.
