Lakas, Kampi vow unity for '07 polls
 

The administration-backed Lakas Christian-Muslim Democrats (Lakas CMD) together with the pro-administration Kampi yesterday vowed to unite for a strong political machinery for the May 2007 elections.

in World Pool finals

ANILA. The man who knocked out the Philippines' brightest-and most loved-hope proved to be its worthiest hope after all.

Ronnie Alcano, the last Filipino standing after eight days of the World Pool Championship, prevailed in a match littered with errors and grievous misses, downing China's Li Hewen, 11-8, yesterday to reach the finals against methodical German Ralf Souquet at the PICC in Pasay City.

City port terminal fee proposed at P22

The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) will increase the prevailing passenger terminal fee at the city port by 100 percent, from P11 to P22.

The increase was proposed amid clamor for tight security for passengers taking vessels at the Tagbilaran wharf considering that Bohol is a prime tourist destination, thus, volume of passengers come and go, both foreign and local.
