250 nursing board passers together with their parents, relatives, student nurses,
school administrators and faculty members rallied yesterday in a candle march
that kicked off at the Bohol Cultural Center winding up at the Plaza Rizal Organized
by Boholanos Against Retake of the Nursing Exams (BAROG), the candle march, reportedly
attended by almost a thousand stakeholders, was held simultaneously in major cities
all over the country yesterday by groups opposing the pronounce-ment of Pres.
Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo for a retake of the contro-versial June 2006 nursing licensure

MANILA.
Members of the Association of the Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) are discussing
a possible common stand to take on North Korea's testing of a nuclear bomb on
Monday, it was learned yesterday.
"The
Philippines, in consultation with ASEAN partners, is discussing
coming up
with an ASEAN stand on North Korea," foreign affairs spokesman Ed Malaya
