Chief Justice Artemio Panganiban should not only steer clear of social occasions
where politicians are present but also be wary of nosy reporters, Justice Secretary
Raul Gonzalez said yesterday.
Commenting
on Panganiban's earlier disclosure of receiving "some pressure" from
certain parties in connection with the case of the Malacañang-backed people's
initiative pending in the Supreme Court, Gonzalez said the Chief Justice could
avoid such pressure if he cut down on his socials. FULL

drug suspect falls
The
continued drive against drug addiction netted a big-time drug suspect who has
been in the drug trade since the 90s but has been elusive to several police operations
because of his alleged connections in the military during the past years.
City
PNP Chief Jacinto Cesar identified the suspected drug pusher as Plutarco Lofranco,
alias "Otak," 46, a native of barangay Luyo, Inabanga town but presently
