CA junks port workers' plea
 

The Court of Appeals (CA) denied an omnibus motion for intervention and opposition filed by the Tagbilaran Port Workers Association (TPWA) even as it approved a compromise agreement between the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) and Tagbilaran Maritime Services Inc. (TMSI).

Ex-AFP officers, kin ordered out of disputed land

The Supreme Court has ruled that retired military and police officers and their families should vacate a disputed 398,602-sq.m. property in Fort Bonifacio, saying that its occupants may have been hoodwinked by "a cabal of cheats" in the government's land management office.

"This could not have come to pass without the participation of a cabal of cheats out to make a dishonest buck at the expense of the government and most likely the members of SHAI (Southside Homeowners Association Inc.)," the Supreme Court said.

 Boheco service fee hike looms

Power consumers in most part of the province have to brace for another increase in service fees of the Bohol I Electric Cooperative (Boheco I).

The biggest electric cooperative in Bohol said in its application for the increase filed with the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) that its "other charges" are no longer applicable due to the "spiraling cost of materials and the adjustment of labor cost.".
