Re-electionist
Gov. Erico Aumentado is running for his last term
as governor with victory perceived to be in a
silver platter despite the entry of six other
gubernatorial bets, four of whom are independent
candidates.
Vice
Gov. Julius Caesar Herrera, on the other hand,
is faced with a strong contender coming from the
huge political clan of the Tirols. Last termer
Prov'l Board Member Godofreda Tirol who is a consistent
winner in the 3rd congressional district filed
her certificate of candidacy under PDP-Laban.
She is the sister-in-law of former Gov. David
Tirol. Her husband is former Provl Kagawad Victor
Tirol.

on Holy Week ceasefire
MANILA.
Administration senatorial candidate Ralph Recto called on
Saturday the Armed Forces and the New People's Army to declare
a ceasefire during Holy Week in spite of the arrest of Bayan
Muna Rep. Satur Ocampo, a former negotiator of the National
Democratic Front.
Recto
said the process of silencing the guns of conflict during
the solemn week should not be impeded by the detention of
Ocampo, who he said could be eventually exonerated if the
truth is on his side.

endorses Bohol road
project to NEDA
Phase
3 of the Bohol Circumferential Road Improvement Project
(BCRIP 3) is one step closer to realization with its
endorsement Friday to the National Economic and Development
Authority (NEDA).
During
its full council meeting at the Bohol Tropics Resort,
the Central Visayas Regional Development Council (RDC
7) chaired by Oriental Negros Gov. George Arnaiz unanimously
endorsed the proposed BCRIP 3 to the NEDA Investment
Coordinating Committee (ICC) for inclusion in the 27th
or later Yen Loan Package of the Japan Bank for International
Cooperation (JBIC).

2010.
