German, wife killed

A German national and his wife were brutally murdered inside their house in barangay Laya, Baclayon town in an apparent robbery early Friday morning.

The victims were identified as one Helmut Malinka, 64 years old, a native of Hamburg, Germany and his Boholana wife Eutiquia Missiona Malinka, 59, a native of Loboc town.

Helmut was found by police who responded to the crime scene hogtied in his bedroom using a tie-wire with eight stab wounds to the chest with a deep laceration on the back portion of his head evidently hit by a blunt object.

Oil firms raise fuel prices again

MANILA-- Amid rising international oil prices, local oil companies hiked gasoline, diesel, and kerosene prices by 50 centavos a liter yesterday.

First to raise prices was refiner Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp. at 12:01 a.m., followed by Eastern Petroleum Corp. at 5 a.m., Petron Corp. and Chevron Philippines Inc. at 6 a.m., and Total (Philippines) Corp. at noon.

New players Flying V and Seaoil Philippines Inc. jacked up prices of the same products by the same level at 12:01 a.m. and 6 a.m. today, respectively.

  GMA to inaugurate projects next week

President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has confirmed her April 27 Bohol visit to inaugurate at least three huge infrastructure projects.

Gov. Erico Aumentado had invited her to inaugurate the Bayongan Dam in San Miguel town of the Bohol Irrigation Project Stage 2 (BHIP 2), the Bohol Circumferential Road Improvement Project Phase 2 (BCRIP 2), and the P60-million Jagna Roll-on, Roll-off Port.
