The
Catholic Church strongly warned candidates to
lay down their agenda on how to protect the environment
in this world re-known eco-tourism province.
The
warning was contained in a church sponsored Candidates'
Forum held last night in front of the St. Joseph's
Cathedral which was covered live over radio dyRD
and dyZD, member stations of the Catholic Media
Network (CMN).

Gringo
to replace weak TU bet?
SAN
FRANCISCO, Agusan del Sur - Rumors are rife that former senator
Gregorio "Gringo" Honasan - who was allowed to post
bail on charges of leading a short-lived mutiny in 2003 -
is set to replace one of the weakest candidates of the administration
Team Unity.
Speculations
were apparently triggered by Honasan's sudden release from
detention and an admission made by Team Unity senatorial candidate
Michael Defensor that he was "open" to the idea
of Honasan replacing one of them.
"Our
advocacy is not different from Senator Honasan and Team Unity.
We are both for peace, reconciliation and unity," Defensor
said.

"WE
DESERVE THE MAYORS WE VOTE FOR"
 |
|
Election
is about the only time, the electorate feels
that the power to change is in their hands.
"Integrity
and competence" are about the simplest
generic terms we can coin to reflect the true
worth of a candidate. If the electorate chooses
|
to hang themselves by choosing on the basis of political
patronage, monetary consideration or blood lines,
that is their choice. No one can force an electorate
who prefer underdevelopment and an era of corruption
in his municipal halls, to vote otherwise.
