3rd district are

The
third congressional district of the province as
well as the city of Tagbilaran are declared "free
zone" by the national arbitration committee
of the administration's Team Unity which includes
six political parties as coalition partners.
This
was learned yesterday when a copy of the nationwide
listing of party affiliations under the Team Unity
leaked to the Chronicle showing Tagbilaran City
and the 3rd district noted with (FZ) or Free Zone.

on Holy Week ceasefire
MANILA.
Administration senatorial candidate Ralph Recto called on
Saturday the Armed Forces and the New People's Army to declare
a ceasefire during Holy Week in spite of the arrest of Bayan
Muna Rep. Satur Ocampo, a former negotiator of the National
Democratic Front.
Recto
said the process of silencing the guns of conflict during
the solemn week should not be impeded by the detention of
Ocampo, who he said could be eventually exonerated if the
truth is on his side.

"Swertres"
financier nabbed

financier of the illegal numbers game "swertres"
operating in the towns of Guindulman, Duero, Anda and
Candijay was arrested by operatives of the Criminal
Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Tuesday night
in barangay Tabahan, Guindulman.
The
financier, identified as one Orlando O. Tañedo
alias Alay, 45 years old, resident of Tabahan, Guindulman,
finally fell into the hands of the CIDG's "Oplan
Roulette" in coordination with elements of the
Guindulman PNP who conducted a raid in the suspect's
residence.
