Among
the 225 successful examinees of the recent licensure
examinations for Doctors of Veterinary Medicine, given
by the Professional Regulations Commission, is a pure
Bol-anon and a native of Valencia town.
Dr.
Rodney Marante y Pagaran was born in Poblacion Occidental,
Valencia, Bohol, and spent his elementary and high school
days here in Tagbilaran City.

After
six years of studies at University of the Philippines
at Los Baños (UPLB), the new doctor took the
government's licensure examinations for Veterinarians
last Aug. 1-3, 2007 in Manila. Only 225 passed the said
exams out of the 637 examinees. Out of the 50 fresh
graduates from UPLB, 46 passed the board exams, for
the school's 92 percent passing rate.
Dr.
Marante spent his elementary days at the Holy Spirit
School and attended high school at the Central Visayas
State College of Agriculture, Fisheries and Technology
(CVSCAFT). While in high school, he, along with elder
brother Jay Warren, were mainstays of the famous CVSCAFT
drum and bugle corps.

Dr.
Rodney P. Marante is the youngest of the two sons of Nathaniel
Marante of Poblacion Occidental, Valencia, and Elizabeth Pagaran-Marante,
of Tabuan, Garcia-Hernandez. Elder brother Jay Warren is also
an alumnus of UPLB, finishing BS in Applied Physics in 2005,
and is now working as a Design Engineer in Bitmicro Networks
International, a company pioneering in producing computer
softwares and hardwares.
