SAN
FRANCISCO, California.- Bishop Leonardo Medroso of the
Diocese of Tagbilaran arrived here to echo the call
in uniting Boholanos through prayers.
He
rallied for a more prayerful life amid the daily grind
in life during his keynote address at the 2007 biennial
convention of the Confederation of Boholanos in the
United States and Canada (Conbusac) held at the Emerald
Ballroom of Holiday Inn last July 28.
The
church leader also reminded the flock that "we
should remain grateful to the blessings of our parents
back home or wherever they may be" He said the
visit gave him time to talk on how to handle life while
being far from our loved ones back home.
Ted
Apalisok and Evangelina Calceta, president and chairperson
of Conbusac spearheaded the preparations of the four-day
event which gathered some 300 Boholanos from the US
and Canada.
Apalisok
took time to thank the officers and members of Conbusac
for their tremendous support for the success of the
gathering. He said that without their wholehearted support,
the

reunion of Boholanos could not be that successful. A thanksgiving
gathering for the success of the event is slated to be held
this week.
This
year's Conbusac was hosted by the Tagbilaran Association of
Northern California (Tanocal)

During
the Family Night, the www.dyrdam.com held its USA launching
which broadcast the part of the affair live from Holiday
Inn here.
From
Bohol, Gov. Erico Aumentado beamed his message to the
Boholanos through the DYRD Worldwide broadcast. He congratulated
the continued enthusiasm of the Boholanos in meeting
regularly through this biennial convention as he thanked
them for the various projects extended back home.

Deane
Jeffrey Dejaresco did the honors to do the official "USA
launching" of the www.dyrdam.com
which signaled the "major link between the Boholanos
abroad and home" He said the breakthrough in modern technology
pioneered by the Bohol Chronicle Radio Corp. is a "gift
to the Boholanos" as DYRD marks its 46th year in broadcast
journalism.
The
4-day event included a trade show and the holding of the Search
for Miss 2007 Conbusac held during the Gala Night.
Miyoshi
Nanca representing TANOCAL, the host chapter was crowned as
Miss 2007 Conbusac. She was crowned by Jordan Sumodobila,
2006 Miss Conbusac.
BISHOP's
TRIP
Bishop
Medroso from the Conbusac affair was able to lead a concelebrated
mass at the St. Patrick Cathedral in midtown Manhatan, New
York yesterday where he met New York Cardinal Edward. Concelebrating
with the bishop were Rev Frs. Fernando Po, Fr . Ronald Amora
and Nol Docabo. He also took time to visit Msgr. Crispin Varquez,
the day before the announcement was made of the latter's appointment
as new Boholano bishop.
The
bishop met with Boholano priests like Msgr. John Pernia, Fr.
Boboy Curso, Fr. Eugene Tungol and Fr. Eronico and well as
Fr. Ramon Ongcog in Vermont.
Medoros
also met with Dr. Ramy Cadag, Dr. Pepe Recitas and Dr. Bong
Lerias of the Home Reach Foundation yesterday. (with reports
