No ouster move
for Col. Ingking

But, complaints on cockpit operations

A group of municipal mayors are allegedly pushing for the ouster of Bohol Police Director SSupt. Edgardo Ingking resulting from his intensified drive against illegal gambling.

This was however denied by the League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP), through its president Jagna Mayor Exuperio Lloren in an interview with the Chronicle yesterday.

Once again, we were proven right that the SK election is merely a mirror of Philippine dirty politics.

All the dirty hallmark that gives politics a bad name are present: massive vote buying

and the maneuvers engineered and implemented by either politicians and the parents of some SK chairmen. And of course, the "kidnapping" (with consent) two days before the election day.

Guv: $1M for dam rehab not a loan

Loans need payments, but grants are free.

Gov. Erico Aumentado made this clarification Friday during his weekly program The Governor Reports simulcast live over radio stations here.

The governor referred to the reaction of Engr. Petronilo Sarigumba, a former project manager of the National Irrigation Administration (NIA), on the US$1 million grant from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) to finance the feasibility study and detailed design on the improvement of the Malinao Dam in Pilar town.

Bohol Wisdom School (BWS) prepares as it will represent region 7 to the Philippine National Chemistry Olympiad sometime in February nest year to be held in one of the major universities in Manila.

This after BWS sophomore student Kenneth Bolo drew an impressive third place win in the 2007 Regional Chemistry Blitz sponsored by the University of San Carlos Chemistry Department held last Dec. 1 in Talamban, Cebu City.

THAILAND - Athletics finally delivered three and Miguel Molina triumphed again to spark a victory splurge of 11 golds yesterday that could only lift the Philippines to fourth overall in the 24th Southeast Asian Games here.

Fencing and dance sports contributed two victories each while billiards, rowing and the new sport of duathlon joined the winner's row as the Filipinos raised their golden haul to 14 as competitions moved into the night.
