mance in police Administration and Operations, thereby contributing immeasurably to the attainment of the overall mission and objective of the Philippine National Police.

A Field Evaluation and Validation Team from the National Police Headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City headed by Chief Supt Ereno Bacolod, Deputy Directorate for Personnel and Records Management with three (3) other arrived here last December 22, 2006 to conduct the final validation of the group's accomplishments, resources, current activities, plans and programs as well as their problems. The group was initially inspected by the AGI-ORSITE Inspection Team in August 2006 by the Internal Affairs Service (IAS) from MHQ PNP, Camp Crame, Quezon City.

Criteria for selecting the Best PMG includes appearance and discipline of personnel to include neatness and completeness of uniform with proper display of the required paraphernalia and patches; records management; Internal Security Operations (ISO); Anti-Criminality and Administrative accomplishments; skills, knowledge and capability of personnel as well as the appearance and cleanliness of the office and its facilities.

The Field Validation and Evaluation Team also subjected the PMG to a battery of tests to include Operational Readiness Security Inspection Test Evaluation (ORSITE) to measure their preparedness to react and respond to emergencies, Immediate Action Drill (IAD), Arrest techniques, search and seizure, conduct of checkpoints, close quarter battle drill (CQB), hostage taking negotiation and investigation, scene of the crime operations (SOCO) and Firearms Proficiency and Marksmanship firing.

The men's mastery of Basic Police Knowledge proved handedly during the rank inspection when they were asked the basic police functions, mission, vision and other related matters.

The briefing rendered by Mendez on the highlights of accomplishments and other related matters of the unit greatly impressed the NHQ PNP Field Validation and Evaluation Team.

The award was received by the group director last January 31 at Camp Crame, Quezon City on the occasion of the 16th PNP Anniversary Celebration from no less than Pres. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo assisted by DILG Secretary Ronaldo Puno and P/Director General Oscar Castelo Calderon, CPNP.

On the other hand, a separate plaque of recognition was also conferred to Mendez by Gov. Erico B. Aumentado, chairman of the Prov'l Peace and Order Council during the regular monthly meeting at the Bohol Tropics Resort Club on February 12, 2
