TEAM UNITY VS. GENUINE OPPOSITION

"Politics is just show business, you have a hell of an opening, coast for a while, and then have a hell of a close."
-- Ronald Reagan

The Administration coalition composed of the Lakas CMD, Kabalikat ng Mamamayang Pilipino (Kampi), the Nationalist People's Coalition (NPC) pro-Administration wing, Laban ng Demokratiko Pilipino (LDP) and the Liberal Party (LP) Lito Atienza wing have finalized their 12-man senatorial slate called the Team Unity.

Earlier, the United Opposition (UNO) composed of the Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino (PMP), Partido Demokratiko Pilipino Lakas ng Bayan (PDP Laban), Nacionalista Party (NP), Liberal Party Franklin Drilon Wing, the NPC Francis Escudero wing, Alayon, and the Aksyon Demokratiko also finalized their senatorial slate called the Genuine Opposition (GO).

In the City of Tagbilaran, retired General Alberto Olario has been silent these days.
According to a reliable source, retired Gen. Olario will run for mayor if former Mayor Jose V. Torralba backs out from the mayoralty race.

In case retired Gen. Olario decides to run for mayor, his councilors slate line-up will include lawyers Nerio Zamora II, Rene Paredes and Cristifil Baluma, former City Councilor Felipe dela Torre, Jr., and Cogon Kagawad Jerry Pabe.

But as things had unfolded these days, former Mayor Torralba is hell-bent in challenging incumbent Mayor Dan N. Lim.

According to a report, businessman Angelo Balili has withdrawn from the congressional race of the Third District of Bohol. But efforts to get confirmation from Balili proved futile as he did not respond to the query of this writer. If the report was true, those left in the congressional race are former Gov. Rene L. Relampagos, Board Member Dionisio D. Balite, and former Board Member Alexander H. Lim.

According to a report, former Board Member Alexander H. Lim would be named as chairman of Kampi for Bohol. If the report was true, Lim will likely challenge Board Member Balite as an administration official candidate.
