Probe abuses at City Rehab

The City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) office is now investigating on the complaint of lewd acts and harassment of 17 female inmates against a male jailguard at the City of Tagbilaran Rehabilitation Center (CTRC) in barangay Cabawan, this city.

City social welfare officer Dr. Teresita Villafuerte together with a Chronicle - dyRD team went to the CTRC yesterday after receiving a copy of a letter from female inmates regarding the alleged abuses of a jailguard whose identity was withheld pending investigation.

Just Before Deadline
House ethics body seeks
suspension of Cayetano

MANILA. The House of Representatives' ethics committee early evening yesterday voted 35-3, with one abstention, to recommend the 45-day suspension of Taguig-Pateros Representative Alan Peter Cayetano.

Cayetano had been facing expulsion charges filed by First Gentleman Jose Miguel Arroyo and members of his family who the solon accused of maintaining multimillion-dollar bank accounts in Germany.
