Entries are now accepted for the participation in the 19th edition of Alturas Drum and Bugle Corps Showdown, an annual competition that pits the best drum and bugle corps not just in the province of Bohol but also from the other provinces as well.

School heads and principals in secondary and tertiary schools provincewide are being sent letters inviting their drum corps to participate in the drum and bugle corps showdown this year.

Dubbed as "the greatest show in town," the Alturas Drum and Bugle Corps Showdown 2006 is the main highlight of the 21st Anniversary Celebration of Alturas Supermarket scheduled on November 25, 2006.

Along with several other activities in the Alturas 21st Anniversary Celebration, the showdown aims to promote goodwill and encourage the development of the youth worthwhile endeavors as well as hone their potentials in music-related fields.

Fabulous cash prizes and awards await the would-be winners of this year's showdown.

Special award are also given: Best in Production Design. Best in Instrumentation, Best in Choreography, Best in Rhythm and Dynamics, Best in Uniform, Best in Discipline, Best in parade Impact, Best Corps Major, Best Corps Majorette, Darling of the Crowd, Best in Entertainment, Most Colorful Corps, Best in Boholano Ambience, Best in Synchronization, and Best in Jingle.

Trophies are also awarded for the Liveliest Corps, Most Elegant, Best in Projection, Most Promising Neophyte, Neophyte of the Year, Most Impressive Neophyte, and Most Inspiring Corps.

Presented in cooperation with the Department of Education (DepED), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), and Coca-Cola, the Alturas Drum and Bugle Showdown 2006 is set on November 25, Saturday, at the CPG Sports Complex.
