P100T reward: dead or alive

A P100,000 cash reward will be given to informants who can provide vital information leading to the arrest "dead or alive" of two ex-convicts tagged as prime suspects in the series of robbery hold-ups in the city.

City Mayor Dan Lim announced this reward as he continued to warn ex-convicts Ian Bautista and Michael Lao to "surrender or die."

AFP: 'Strategic victory' over
communist guerrillas by 2010

MANILA. Five thousand communist insurgents in the Philippines have been "neutralized" since 2002, the armed forces chief said yesterday, predicting victory over the guerrilla movement by 2010.

General Hermogenes Esperon said he was confident of a "strategic victory" after military clashes with the insurgents significantly reduced numbers in both the political and fighting arms of the communist movement.

We always thought Boholano multi-awarded actor-director Cesar Montano could become a "wild card" in local politics.

Someone from the "outside" suddenly having a fighting chance to make it big in Bohol politics on the first try. Cesar has of course played it coy when cornered for an answer regarding his political ambition: "Bohol is close to my heart," the Baclayon-born native would softly answer.
