The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) has directed Tagbilaran port manager Raul Oblenda to implement the turnover of the port services back to the Tagbilaran Maritime Services, Inc. (TMSI) on Friday.

The order came as an offshoot of the denial of a motion for intervention and opposition by the Court of Appeals.

MANILA. The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) yesterday revealed that more suspension and dismissal orders may be served on local government executives before the end of the election season.

Interior Secretary Ronaldo Puno said that aside from suspension and dismissal orders already served by the DILG, he is awaiting Ombudsman Merceditas Gutierrez's ruling on cases filed against hundreds of other local officials.

 Montes backed by 8 kagawads as Lakas-CMD chair

 Eight out of 10 incumbent city councilors have signed a manifesto endorsing Vice Mayor Nuevas Tirol-Montes as the official party chair of the ruling Lakas-CMD here and not former City Mayor Joe Torralba.

Moreover, six of the eight incumbent Lakas councilors together with Montes also conveyed to Gov. Erico Aumentado, in a letter dated January 12, 2006, for the approval of the
official city Lakas slate composed of the incumbent city vice mayor and city councilors belonging to the administration party.
