A kitchen fire that broke around 2:20 this morning at the Bohol Beach Club in Bolod, Panglao totally damaged one of the resort's restaurants.

Firefighters were still trying to clear the burned area at 5 this morning which gutted down the entire ceiling of Agotata Restaurant, one of three restaurants of BBC.

The restaurant is found in the new wing of the resort.

The Tagbilaran Fire Department reportedly received the fire alarm around 3 this morning. Firetrucks from the three Tagbilaran Fire Substations responded to the scene.

According to resort personnel, interviewed by the Chronicle, one of the restaurant's cooks was preparing breakfast for their guests when the fire broke out.

The fire, which caused some of the resort's guests to panic, did not harm anyone as firemen immediately contained the blaze.

BBC personnel and staff were able to calm down some of the resort's guests staying in rooms near the Agotata restaurant.

The resort is reportedly fully-booked.

Firemen are still investigating the incident and the extent of damage this morning.
