A
big-time drug dealer believed to be supplying several drug
pushers here in the city was collared by the city police during
a buy-bust operation Monday afternoon in barangay Taloto,
this city.
Arrested
was one Maverick Joseph Monungolh y Corro, 32 years old, a
resident of Pardo, Cebu City.
An
operative of the City PNP acted as poseur-buyer which led
to the arrest of Monunglolh at around 4 p.m. Monday along
Peñaflor Street in front of the Taloto Catholic Church
amid fiesta celebrations.

The
arrest followed after a three-week surveillance by alert
City PNP operatives who were informed that P12,000 worth
of shabu was left by the suspect to a drug pusher.
Police
recovered six marked P500 bills which was used by the
poseur-buyer to purchase about .250 gram of methamphetamine
hydrochloride, commonly known as shabu.
Seized
from Monunglolh were four pieces of transparent cellophane
sachets containing suspected shabu granules, five large
sachets containing shabu granules, one cellular phone
and P18,940 in different denominations.

The
arresting police team was led by P/Insp. Basiledes Balistoy.
Monunglolh
is reportedly bringing in his supply of the prohibited substance
from Cebu City and sells them to local drug pushers.
Police
is following up personalities who are regularly supplied by
Monungolh.
Allegedly,
the seized shabu from Monungolh is worth almost P30,000.
An
inventory of the seized items was made in the presence of
Taloto barangay captain Faro Cabalit, barangay kagawad Juan
Zamora, Department of Justice representative Zacarias Castro
and Willy Maestrado of the media.
Monungolh
will be charged at the City Prosecutor's Office for violating
Sec. 5 and 11 of Art. II of RA 9165, otherwise known as the
Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.
Monungolh
is detained at the City PNP lock-up jail.
