Dengue kills 6;
hits 370 others

A provincewide dengue alert was launched Thursday with the continued increase in the incidence of dengue fever with already nine reported dead and 370 others stricken.

The Department of Health (DOH) Regional Health Emergency Management Services revealed that the latest fatality was a fifteen year old boy in Catagbacan, Loon town who died last Thursday.

DOH-7 coordinator Dr. Expedito Medalla and regional health officials went to the towns of Jagna and Dauis last Friday, where high incidence of dengue was reported.

"Bu-ak" rob leader arrested in Carmen

An alleged leader of the notorious "Bu-ak" gang held responsible for slays and robbery hold-ups in the interior and northern towns in the province was arrested by operatives of the Bohol Police Provincial Office (BPPO) last Wednesday in barangay Calatrava, Carmen town.

The arresting team, led by Supt. Clarito Baja, nabbed Leo Remorosa, 45, resident of barangay Calatrava, of said town, believed to be the brains behind murders and highway robberies in the towns of Sagbayan, Carmen, Clarin, Dagohoy and other towns in the 3rd district.

Sandugo street dance July 22

Artistically choreographed groups and well-fashioned floats will parade on July 22 along the main thoroughfares of the city for the Sandugo Street Dancing Extravaganza.

Anchored on the theme "Pakigsandurot sa Kinaiyang Bol-anon," this year's edition centers on the participation of the local community. Participants may come from municipal government units, socio-civic organizations, learning institutions, business establish-ments and families/clans in a non-contest setting.

Just Before Deadline.....
Fire hits BBC restaurant

A kitchen fire that broke around 2:20 this morning at the Bohol Beach Club in Bolod, Panglao totally damaged one of the resort's restaurants.

Firefighters were still trying to clear the burned area at 5 this morning which gutted down the entire ceiling of Agotata Restaurant, one of three restaurants of BBC.

The restaurant is found in the new wing of the resort.
