3 revenue officials

Three
officials of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR)
were ordered dismissed by the Ombudsman for trying
to extort from a resort owner in Panglao.
The
Office of the Ombudsman issued the dismissal order
last Wednesday against Special Investigation Division
chief Bonifacio Ybanez, Revenue Officer 1 Edgar
Palgan and Intelligence Officer III Francis Mercado.
The
three officials are assigned at the Special Investigation
Division of BIR Region No. 13 in Cebu City.

Zonta
Club Int'l organized in Bohol
Dr.
Victoria Tan Camacho was inducted charter president
of Zonta Club of Bohol during the club's charter presentation
and inaugural dinner at the Bohol Plaza last night.
She, together with the other charter officers was inducted
by Oliva V. Ferry, president of Zonta International.
Other
officers inducted were Enriquieta Borja Butalid, vice
president; Rosalina Rara Sarabosing, secretary; Aoracion
Pinat Penales, treasurer and Inocenta Hontanosas Cabagnot,
asst treasurer.

Kidnapping
of abductors'
kin branded inhuman
ZAMBOANGA
CITY. Calling the strategy inhuman, the Philippine superior
of the Pontifical Institute for Foreign Missions said
yesterday he hoped it was not true that the authorities
obtained Fr. Giancarlo Bossi's release by holding hostage
the family of the alleged leader of the band that kidnapped
the Italian missionary.
"I
also really feel guilty about this," Fr.Gianni
Sandalo said adding "I hope it's not true, such
practice for us is inhuman."
