The
Bohol side of the three-dimensional (3D) seismic
survey of the Bohol Strait slated to start tomorrow
has been deferred pending the resolution of issues
and concerns raised by the Bohol Alliance of Non-Government
Organizations (Bangon).
This
following a five-hour marathon meeting Thursday
night and another Friday afternoon both presided
over by Gov. Erico Aumentado at the conference
room of the Governor's Mansion.

Rebel
presence up in 10 municipalities

The presence of members of the New People's
Army (NPA) is up in at least 10 municipalities.
This
was bared by the Philippine Army's 302nd Infantry Brigade
Commander Col. Jesse Dellosa during a meeting of the
Provincial Peace and Order Council last Friday.
According
to Dellosa, the rise in rebel activities was observed
starting May, weeks before the local elections.

Cottage now stands as additional landmark to the Shrine
of Our Lady of All Nations - "Señora Sa
Tanang Nasud" at Cogon, West Ulbujan, Garcia-Hernandez
town.
The
building purposely constructed as shelter and rest area
for visitors, religious or otherwise, including tourists
is complete with sala-veranda, room and kitchen with

it is providential that Nor-Asian Energy Ltd.
pushed for an oil seismic survey along the Bohol
Straits.

The
combination of "lapses" and indecent haste
by which the oil seismic survey was scheduled on
June 18 (with threadbare public consultation) gave
birth instead to authentic peaceful Boholano People
Power. It is an amazing development.

Catholic
priest, new MILF
chief negotiator for gov't
COTABATO
CITY. Malacañang has tapped a Roman Catholic
priest who once served in the Cotabato area
as the new government chief negotiator for Moro
Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).
Fr.
Eliseo Mercado, OMI, former president of Notre
Dame University here, would take over the
helm of the government peace panel with the
MILF rebels after Secretary Silvestre Afable
Jr., resigned from the position over the weekend.
