Loboc
won its own grand slam in the Miss BAMMI (Bohol Association
of Metro Manila, Inc.) contest on Feb. 23.
The
reigning Miss Loboc, Jennica Salabsab, bested 15 other muses
and annexed the Miss BAMMI 2007 crown at the PTA Clamshell
2, along General Luna St. in Intramuros, Manila. Miss BAMMI
received her crown, scepter, cape and sash from Congressman
Edgar M. Chatto (First District, Bohol), Bb. Pilipinas-World
Anna Maris Igpit and businessman Angelo Balili.
Miss
Sikatuna, Patrixia Pearl Manlangit, daughter of Engr. Pat
Manlangit and Dr. Sonia Manlangit landed as First Runner-up.
She was crowned by actor-director turned senatorial candidate
Cesar Montano, with wife Sunshine Cruz, Vice Admiral Rogelio
Calunsag and Mrs. Teresita Reyes, wife of DENR Secretary Angelo
Reyes.

Second
Runner-up for Miss BAMMI was Miss Ubay, Mhelanee Oliva
Bulabos, who accepted her award from Mrs. Rebecca Rañola,
Mr. Loy Palapos and Mrs. Fely Ramos.
Third
Runner-up, Miss Ma. Aysa Asombrado of Tubigon was awarded
by Mrs. Sol Alturas Yu, Commissioner Tommy Toledo, while
Fourth Runner-up, Miss Haydee Rose Castrodes of Tagbilaran
City, was proclaimed by Mr. Bingo Dejaresco of The Bohol
Chronicle and Director Prudenciana Cruz of the National
Library.

Chosen
as Miss Photogenic was Miss Mabini's Miss Lou Wella Mae Bernasor,
who received her prize from Atty. Luna Piezas and Dr. Rosemarie
Soria. Voted Miss Congeniality by her fellow candidates, Sikatuna's
Miss Manlangit received her award from Asst. Solicitor General
Raul Mandin.
Ubay's
bet, Miss Bulabos, won a second award, this time as Best in
Gown, receiving her prize from Rear Admiral Margarito Sanchez.
Second best in evening gown was Panglao's Miss Edelweiss Lynn
Estomo, while third was Mabini's Miss Bernasor.
The
three Best in Gown winners also shared top Miss Talent honors
among themselves, although in a different order.
Earlier,
on Saturday, January 27 during the final Miss BAMMI canvassing
at the Pasay City Sports Complex, the candidates had already
squared off for the title of Miss Talent. Proclaimed Miss
Talent, her third award for the evening, was Ubay's Miss Bulabos,
for her heartrending version of "Narito Ako." She
received her prize from celebrity performers Luke Mejares,
Giselle Sanchez and Yoyoy Villame. Runner-up for the Miss
Talent competition was Mabini's Miss Bernasor, while third
place was bagged by Panglao's Miss Estomo. All three winners
reprised their performances.
Miss
BAMMI coronation night, which completed the four-month quest,
was attended by luminaries of the Boholano community, who
were also present to honor the Outstanding Boholanos in Metro
Manila, launch the maiden issue of BAMMI Trajectory magazine
and review the gains of the project, Preserve President CPG's
Heritage: Save the Museum.
Main
hosts for the colorful Miss BAMMI pageant were Neil Saletrero
and Atty. Jessica Tirol, while the Miss BAMMI segment had
Jun-jun Lafuente as production manager and director. Director
for the evening's entire proceedings was Joseph A. Rañola,
BAMMI's project director.
Performers
that serenaded the Boholana beauties were led by Star in a
Million champion Jerome Sala and veterans Dhel Horest, Luz
Loreto, Emil Loseñada, and Rebecca Olaso with musical
director Tex Cimafranca. The Philippine National Police Combo
was on hand to provide dance music and fanfare, while the
Marching Band of Sto. Niño, Muntinlupa, featured brass
band in Mall of Asia and other SM branches, gave a special
flavor to the procession of candidates.
All
16 candidates who joined the Search for Miss BAMMI 2007, a
popularity contest, raised a total of P2 Million. Rañola
stressed that the proceeds of the fund-raiser would be used
to complete the ongoing tourism-oriented project of the association,
which is to launch a comprehensive travel and investment book
about the province of Bohol.
Miss
BAMMI and her court have been designated to serve as Ambassadresses
of Goodwill for the organization during Sandugo 2007 in Tagbilaran
City.
