candidates for board members in all the three districts and
the much-sought after official congressional bet in the third
district, the source bared.

VACANCIES
There
will be five vacancies in the SP.
These
are one each in the first and second districts and three in
the third district.
Lobbying for the lone slot in first district for official
candidates are Chatto's political officer Ae Damalerio businesswoman
Purita Soliven and last-termer Loon Mayor Yul Lopez.
In
the second district, a slot vacated by BM Felix Garcia, who
was gunned down just days after he won in the 2004 elections,
could be contested by last termer Inabanga Mayor Jospehine
Socorro Jumamoy and provincial administrator Tomas Abapo,
Jr., if the latter opts not to run for mayor in Ubay, the
hometown of the governor.
In
the third district, at least four hopefuls are being floated
to slug it out for three vacancies. Reports have it that Alicia
Mayor Molina is dead set to run for board member. Also touted
to race in the inclusion of the administration ticket are
peace and order consultant retired Col. Sancho Bernales, lawyer
and IBP past president Salvador Diputado and unnamed dark
horse reportedly backed by Concepcion Lim of Valencia.
Earlier,
Lim initially indorsed Valencia Vice-Mayor Alex Garcia. But
Garcia, in a recent interview, said he opted to run for municipal
councilor instead based on arrangement agreed upon by local
leaders.
Probably
the most crucial matter, which must be settled, is the congressional
seat to be vacated by Cong. Eladio Jala.
Aspirants
in the district include Balite, and probably Adam Jala, the
son of incumbent Cong. Eladio Jala. The elder Jala was reportedly
set to field his son, who is awaiting his bar exam result
this month.
Other
aspirants in 3rd congressional contest include former governor
Rene Relampagos, former board member Alexander Lim and Manila-based
businessman/philantropist Angelo Balili.
Balili,
reports said, is set to announce his political plans next
week on whether to run or just support a candidate for congressman
in the 3rd district (RVO).
