A drug pusher who
is under police probation for possession of illegal drugs
was arrested by the City PNP during a checkpoint at Causeway
Drive at the boundary of Tagbilaran City and barangay Totolan,
Dauis town last Thursday night and was found carrying 'shabu'.
The
suspect, identified as one Paul Lester Abellana y Cabalit,
alias Polpol, 26 years old, married and a resident of Belderol
Street, this city, was driving a Yamaha DT motorcycle from
Dauis when flagged down by operatives.

According
to police, the suspect tried to evade the authorities
upon seeing the checkpoint and resisted arrest but was
later neutralized with the assistance of some concerned
citizens.
Confiscated
from the possession of Abellana were 13 small transparent
sachets of crystalline granules suspected to be metamphetamine
hydrochloride, commonly known as 'shabu', one ampule
of nalbuphine hydrochloride (nubain), 1 syringe and
more than P3,000 cash in different denominations.

A
test by the PNP crime laboratory in Camp Dagohoy, this city,
revealed that the seized sachets of crystalline granules from
the suspect were confirmed 'shabu'.
Abellana,
however, showed negative results from the drug test made by
the crime lab.
The suspect is currently detained at the City PNP lock-up
jail while charges have been filed at the City Prosecutors
Office last Thursday against him for violating Sec. 11, Art.
II of RA 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of
2002.
The
arresting team was led by City PNP officer-in-charge P/Insp.

PO1 Anniver Garrote, SPO3 Joaquin Adayo, PO1 Celso Orapa and
