Boholanos in Sydney
sponsor scholarship

Boholanos now residing in Australia, particularly in Sydney, are sponsoring a scholarship program for poor but deserving students in the province.

"Boholano and Friends," a Sydney-based association of concerned Boholanos headed by Tom Boncales, is sponsoring the program of sponsoring two scholars to a four-year industrial course at the Central Visayas State College of Agriculture, Forestry and Technology (CVSCAFT).

The project dubbed as "Kaabag sa Kaugmaon" will pick the scholars from among prospective students to be chosen by the selection board under Edita Chatto, CVSCAFT chair on scholarship.

Project chairpersons of the scholarship program are Romy Alampayon and Dr. Violeta Patos, who recently came home from Australia to seal the agreement between their association and the school.

Other officers of the "Boholano and Friends" are Miraflor Arrocha, vice president; Sherry Sulliven, treasurer; Romy Alampayan, auditor.
