Notorious
robbery suspect Ian Bautista, tagged for several
hold-upping incidents here in the city and in
the towns was finally captured by police operatives
in barangay La Suerte, Pilar town last Monday.
Bautista,
28, a native of barangay Cogtong, Candijay town
carries a P100,000 reward. He had a standing warrant
of arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch
49 for the mid-day hold-upping of the Florencio
Lim Caltex Station, this city last December 2006.

Database
for rights
cases, political slays
MANILA.-
The Commission on Human Rights (CHR) said yesterday
it had perfected a database that would help the government
fast-track its efforts to solve the extrajudicial killings
in the country.
Called
the "Martus" -- a Greek word for witness -
database, the web-based system is expected to assist
the CHR in accurately collecting and collating information
from its 15 regional offices about the murders.
