SURE
WINNERS. Gov. Erico Aumentado, Vice Gov. Julius Herrera,
Rep. Edgar Chatto and Rep. Roberto Cajes, all re-electionists
and last termers will be proclaimed today as winners by
the Commission on Elections. |
|
Gov.
Erico Aumentado is considered the winner in the gubernatorial
race after his opponents could hardly garner even 4%
of the votes that the re-electionist governor pooled
during last Monday's election.
|
Once
the last ballot is canvassed, Aumentado will emerge as the
first governor in the province who got re-elected twice.
The
unofficial figures from NAMFREL, as of 7:30 last night showed
that Gov. Aumentado garnered 108,856 votes from 839 precints
(out of 3,263) in the province which is comprised of three
congressional districts.
The
other gubernatorial bets pooled an almost insignificant percentage
from the Boholano electorates, namely: Roberto Cericos, 3,284;
Mario Magat, Jr., 2,023; Renato Dalay, 1,906; Teofanes Dumaloan,
568 and Peter Peligrino, 102.
Gov.
Auemnatdo during an interview with "dyRD Election Live"
thanked the Boholanos for the outpouring of support for his
third and last term as governor. He said that "with God's
blessings, he will pursue the various projects in the province"
which is a trademark of the Aumentado brand of service to
the populace.

running mate, re-electionist Vice Gov. Julius Herrera
is also leading the vice gubernatorial race with his
lone opponent, Prov'l Board Member Godofreda Tirol.
Herrera got 84,402, while Tirol pooled 29,635.
For
the congressional race, the two re-electionist congressmen
are likewise considered sure winners even during the
first wave of election returns tabulated at the NAMFREL
tabulation center at the Holy Name University gymnasium.

Last
termer Rep. Edgar Chatto garnered 58,366 votes against his
political archrival former OIC Gov. Victor de la Serna who

the second district, re-electionist Rep. Roberto Cajes is
another sure winner with 11,200 votes against Wenceslao Garcia
