City
Mayor Dan Lim is expected to be proclaimed as the re-elected
chief executive of Tagbilaran City after former Mayor Joe
Torralba failed in his bid to win back city hall bannering
the campaign theme "Tagbilaran Luwasa."
Lim's
votes totaled 16,185 while Torralba got 12,607 votes to pave
the way for his second term as city mayor. Lim leads by 3,578
votes.
However,
Lim's running mate Vice Mayor Nuevas Montes failed in her
bid for re-election giving the seat to City kagawad Jose Antonio
Veloso, running mate of Torralba.
Political
observers concluded that the victory of Veloso was an off-shoot
of the strong support of Rep-. Edgar Chatto whose wife, Pureza
Veloso, is the sister of the new vice mayor.
