MANILA.
The Genuine Opposition senatorial candidates continued to
dominate the National Citizens' Movement for Free Elections
(NAMFREL) Quick Count (partial and unofficial) yesterday reports
said.
As
of 5:34 p.m. Loren Legarda still topped the Senate race with
4,181,309 votes. Another GO candidate, Francis Escudero, was
in second place with 4,028,586 votes followed by teammate
Panfilo Lacson (3,644,891).
Manuel
Villar (3,432,402), GO's guest candidate, dislodged independent
bet Francis Pangilinan (3,422,350) from the fourth slot.
Benigno
Aquino III (3,286,331) trailed behind Pangilinan to take the
sixth slot while Team Unity's Edgardo Angara (3,062,154) and
Joker Arroyo (2,717,216) ranked number seventh and eighth
place, respectively.
Rounding
out the top 12 were independent candidate Gregorio Honasan
(2,662,027), GO candidates Alan Peter Cayetano (2,590,440)
and Antonio Trillanes IV (2,554,849) and TU's Juan Miguel
Zubiri (2,548,567).
Placing
13th to 15th were GO candidate Aquilino Pimentel III (2,519,139),
TU's Ralph Recto (2,496,863) and Prospero Pichay (2,433,074).
For
party-list elections, Bayan Muna still maintained its lead
with 72,935 votes followed by Gabriela (71,256), Buhay (68,766),
Apec (50,365) and Cibac (42,579).
The
figures in NAMFREL's quick count represented 65,242, or 29.03
percent, of the 224,748 total number of clustered precincts
nationwide.
