The
2007 elections posted a high turnout of 82.57% or some
543,000 out of a total of 661,001 registered Boholano
voters, said the Commission on Elections.
But
it looked like Boholano voters shun away on voting party-list
as reflected in a very low turnout. Lawyer Raul Barbarona,
in an interview yesterday, admitted there was poor performance
on party-lists.
A total of 192,697 votes in the entire province or measly
29.15% of the total registered votes were garnered by
93 party-lists accredited by Comelec but only five (party-lists)
got five-digit score.

The
Boholano electorate gave the Alliance of Rural Concerns (ARC)
23,973 votes, the highest so far. It is followed by Association
of Philippine electric Cooperatives, 16,568. Akbayan Citizens
Action Party harvested a total of 12,100; Buhay Hayaan Yumabong,
11,392; and Bayan Muna, 10,413 votes.
