Pioneering
Chinese education in the province, Bohol Wisdom School
proudly welcomed four Chinese teachers, namely: Gao
Xu Dong, Wang Zhi Ge, Le Xiao Fang and Yi Xuan last
Friday, May 25. They will serve as Mandarin coaches
for the school year 2007 - 2008.
These
four volunteer teachers from China were sent to Bohol
in accordance with the contract agreement between the
Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and
Industry Incorporated (FFCCCII) and Bohol Wisdom School
(BWS) as recommended
|
by
the Consulate Officers of the People's Republic of China last
February 20, 2007.
After
visiting BWS, Consul Cui Lousheng with the wife Liu Peifang,
Consul Haoxiang, and Consular Attache Cai Wenshi with wife
Lin Fuxian saw the potential of the institution and highly
recommended for the volunteer teachers to come to Bohol.
|
|
|
Ambassador
of China, LI Jinjun immediately approved and endorsed
the matter to the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chamber
of Commerce and Industry Incorporated (FFCCCII) and
four (4) volunteers were subsequently committed to Bohol
Wisdom School.
Bohol
Wisdom School will still continue teaching Fookien for
the Preparatory classes up to Grade IV. These classes
will be handled by the Chinese resident teachers of
BWS.
As
the student reaches Grade V level, Mandarin will be
introduced to them until they reach High School.
|
Being
the most widely spoken language all over the world, Mandarin
will give one an edge in global relations. Aside from this
intensified Chinese instruction, short-term Mandarin lessons
for parents and other interested parties will also be offered
by the school.
Truly,
the school continues to manifest its commitment to serve everyone
in the community through the programs it initiates.
PRODUCTIVE
PRE-SERVICE TRAINING
On
the other hand, the good enrolment turnout this year inspired
the primary working force of BWS. Both old and the new teachers
are more than excited to share to the students everything
they learned from the array of seminar-workshops that they
have had throughout this month. These learning experiences
range from classroom management, values and virtues of Christian
educators, personally development, teaching strategies, communicative
competence, strengthening relationships and marketplace evangelization.
These are part of the rigid annual development program that
the Administration requires before June starts.
For
the Head of the Administrative Team, Ms. Maria Socorro Navarrete
and the respective principals, Mrs. Gemma Tebio, Ms. Melinda
Sabaricos and Mrs. Ma. Lona Iway, there is only one aim for
this month-long pre-service training, that is, to enhance
"strategic, interactive, transformative and holistic
education" that the school offers.

PROOF

Proving
this, student-representatives of BWS have excelled in various
competitions in and outside Bohol. Elirozz Carlie Labaria,

Living
up to its mission, BWS will never cease educating the mind
and heart in order to prepare the student for life as the
BWS Jingle conveys.
WHAT'S
NEW?
Yes,
the school has launched Soar High BWS this year and it can
be heard over the radio stations now. True to the message
of the song, BWS prepares the clientele for life. Thus, this
2007-2008, aside from the enriched Chinese curriculum, swimming
lessons will be integrated in the Physical Education curriculum.
Furthermore, SSG targets the procurement of additional lockers
to the school this year. Moreover, additional rooms for the
students and extension of the dining area in the canteen are
already being concretized.
With
a new administration, well-trained professional teachers and
hardworking staff, Bohol Wisdom School, now on its 59th year
still stands to serve with more zeal and commitment to uphold
academic excellence and Christian education. Sail on, BWS!
