Two still unidentified
armed men held up a cashier of Island City Mall (ICM) right
at the mall's exit carting away P308,269 at around 9 a.m.
yesterday.
The
money was supposed to be paid out for security guards' salary.
According
to police, the ICM cashier identified as one Victoria Limocon
y Tagsa, 27, resident of Mahayag Norte, Catigbian town, have
just withdrawn the said amount from the mall's cash section
at around 9:30 in the morning, escorted by two security personnel,
and was on her way to the office of NICO Security Agency to
deliver the cash when the two armed suspects approached and
poked their guns before forcibly grabbing the cashier's bag
that contained the amount.

The
cash was intended for the payroll of the mall's hired
security guards. The security agency's office was just
meters away from one of the mall's entrances.
The
two security escorts, also belonging to NICO Security
Agency, attempted to chase the two armed suspects but
were fired upon.
According
to the security escorts, identified as Albert Micabani
y Araula, 25, and Frejun Gonzaga y Sedello, the two
hold-uppers fired on them twice but missed.
The
two suspects escaped going towards the Integrated Bus
Terminal using their getaway vehicle, a red Honda XRM,
that was parked near Bo's Coffee.

Elements
of the City Police Station are still in hot pursuit after
they were immediately dispatched to conduct checkpoints in
the city's exit points.
City
PNP chief Supt. Abner Catalla has refused to issue a statement
as of presstime while investigations are still ongoing.
