Cebu
mayoralty
bet gunned down
CEBU. A mayoralty bet in Santa
Fe town has been killed right in front of the local
Commission on Elections office in Cebu City yesterday.
The
fatality was identified as former Sante Fe mayor Rogelio
Illustrisimo who died from his wounds after two gunmen
shot him at close range before escaping past 9 a.m.,
police said.
According
to police they were investigating the motive for the
Wednesday morning attack, but said it apparently was
connected to local politics.
