The
administration Lakas-CMD showcased a landslide
victory in the provincial, congressional and local
levels during last Monday's elections which confirmed
the leadership of Gov. Erico Aumentado, a nationally
acknowledged ally of the Arroyo administration.
Gov.
Aumentado made an unprecedented lead over six
other gubernatorial bets, who all failed to put
up their machineries considering the "command
leadership" the governor holds up to the
municipal level. Aumentado now holds the record
as the first Bohol governor to complete a three-year
term.

in NAMFREL's latest
MANILA.
The Genuine Opposition senatorial candidates continued to
dominate the National Citizens' Movement for Free Elections
(NAMFREL) Quick Count (partial and unofficial) yesterday reports
said.
As
of 5:34 p.m. Loren Legarda still topped the Senate race with
4,181,309 votes. Another GO candidate, Francis Escudero, was
in second place with 4,028,586 votes followed by teammate
Panfilo Lacson (3,644,891).

Lakas mayors
defeated
Ten
administration Lakas mayors were defeated despite the
claimed dominance of the administration party in the
entire province while the remaining 37 town mayors are
under Lakas-CMD.
Of
the 10, seven are in the first congressional district,
two from the third district and one from the second
district.
