DELAYED ANEW. -The unfinished Agora
market awaits completion into the Tagbilaran Business
Center as contractor encounters some problems with City
Hall. |

The
contractor of the Tagbilaran Business Center (former
Agora Public Market) wants to hold negotiations with
the city government.
In
an interview with the Chronicle, Juan Apostol, the owner
of J.L. Apostol Enterprises which is undertaking the
rehabilitate-operate-transfer (ROT) contract of the
unfinished
|
building
at the former Agora claims he personally ordered the suspension
of construction works even before the stoppage order from City
Administrator Walter Toston came.
|
|
|
Apostol
contends that his company has "completely complied"
with all the requirements as set in the ROT contract.
He
belied claims by Toston that he did not follow basic
requirements for building permit and submit documents
prior to the commencement of actual construction works.
According
to Apostol, the building design given to him was not
the one presented during the negotiations for the ROT.
|
"I
could not agree to a design which I have not seen," Apostol
argued.
Alterations
to the agreed design, Apostol pointed out, should have been
discussed first.
The
contractor said he is meeting with City Mayor Dan Lim to settle
the project details questioned.
