QUEZON
CITY.- Bohol Rep. Roberto "Bob" Cajes escaped
death after he was able to leave the premises of the
House of Representatives barely eight minutes before
the bomb blast explosion last night.
He
told the Chronicle that he passed by at the lobby of
the South Wing where Basilan Rep. Wahab Akbar was standing
when the explosion happened.
|
"I
was already inside my car when I heard the loud explosion,"
he narrated while saying he was definite that the explosion
happened in Congress. He was barely a block away from Congress
when the explosion happened.

|
|
He
received the first hand information about the explosion
when he received a call through his cellular phone from
a ranking official of the National Bureau of Investigation
(NBI) while he was cruising the highway near Congress
past 8 o'clock last night.
Cajes
is the only Boholano solon occupying office at the South
Wing as both, Rep. Edgar Chatto and Rep. Adam Jala's
separate offices are at the North Wing.
|
Chatto
was at the St. Luke Hospital, when interviewed by the Chronicle
last night, together with Rep. George Arnaiz of Negros Oriental
who was monitoring the medical bulletin of Rep. Henry Tevez,
who was also seriously wounded.
Rep.
Chatto, who was interviewed during DYRD's top rated "Tagbilaran-By-Nite"
up to 11 o'clock last night provided radio listeners an up-to-the-minute
account on the medical condition of Rep. Tevez live from the
hospital.
Rep.
Jala is in China together with other young elected officials.
