"SWERTRES" GUIDE. This
is the familiar "tool" of swertres bettors in
determining their number-bets. This illegal numbers game
remains rampant here, especially in the city. |

An
operator of the illegal numbers game 'swertres' was
arrested with his two sons who were found in possession
of illegal drugs by elements of the Criminal Investigation
and Detection Group (CIDG) in Guindulman town last Saturday.
The
suspect, identified as one Rodulfo Eyas y Castro, resident
of barangay Tabajan, Guindulman was collared by joint
CIDG operatives and Guindulman police in his residence
around 8 p.m. by virtue of a search warrant issued by
Regional Trial Court Branch 50 Judge Dionisio Calibo.
According to P/CInsp. Germano Mallari, Eyas was caught
in possession of paraphernalia used in the illegal numbers
game, a cell phone, P1,550, 4 pieces of caliber .45
mm ammunition; and 3 pieces of caliber 38 mm ammunition.

During
the course of the suspect's arrest, his two sons identified
as Sherwin Eyas and Darwin Eyas were also found in possession
of shabu and marijuana.

The
three suspects are now detained at Camp Dagohoy while
charges in violation of the illegal gambling law and
Comprehensive Anti Illegal Drugs law is being prepared.
The arrest of Eyas and his two sons is the ninth successful
apprehension of the Bohol PNP in the past two weeks
after Provincial Police Director SSupt. Edgardo Ingking
declared a provincewide all out war against swertres.
Of
the nine apprehended, six come from the town of Talibon.

The
suspects are identified as Wilfredo Cabulao, Romero Renomeron,
Warren Auxtero, Victor Ramos, Carlos Polistico and Wilson
Saldo of Talibon.
In
Tubigon town, one Benjamin Lumapat was also arrested while
the eighth suspect is identified as a certain Arthur Palado
of barangay San Rafael, Mabini town.
Cases
are now pending against the suspects at the Provincial Prosecutors
Office.
Some
P1.2-million is believed to be the daily revenues derived
by illegal gambling financiers here from swertres operations.
Come
eleven known financiers here in Tagbilaran City are also having
guerilla-type operations in the towns.
