I'm not going
there - Magsino

I'm not going there, thus said international referee George Magsino.

This was the gist of the statement made by the veteran internationalist during a meeting attended by all municipal commissioners of the local Baskeball Association of the Philippines (BAP) on November 16 at the UB gym.

Magsino denied reports that he committed to conduct an accreditation clinic on basketball officiating in Guindulman town sometime in December this year. He categorically stated that there will be no seminars and/or clinic of this kind without following the proper protocol.

All request for accreditation seminar must as a matter of policy be channeled through the local commissioners of the corresponding area. And in this jurisdiction, Madanguit, the provincial commissioner of BAP Bohol must have given the go-signal on any activity like this one.

It might be recalled that a group of people allegedly pretending to be a member of the BAP led by a certain Romy Delima and Joseph Dalope, and John Does who allegedly solicited or invited some members of the BAP in the eastern and northern part of the province relative to an accreditation seminar to be held sometime in December this year.

The member who were reportedly approached and invited were Municipal Commissioner Rene Sistona of Candijay; Rafael Butcon, Jr. of Alicia; Donato Lumacang, Jr. of Anda; Municipal Kag. Eddie Ybanez of Mabini.

Likewise, active BAP members Parowald Bernido of Mabini and Joseph Lao of Candijay were allegedly been invited by the group too.

All of the above relayed the matter to the provincial office. And the latter news caused the local BAP to alarm its municipal chapter.

Meanwhile, the local hierarchy of the BAP would like to reiterate that there is no local chapter of the association in Guindulman. Furthermore, the latter does not recognize anyone as BAP member in the area.
