Science High tops 7th STEP

BRINGING HOME THE BACON. Ma. Emilee Diez Bantugan, a fourth year high school student of the Tagbilaran City Science High School bagged the 1st prize on Spreadsheet Bookkeeping using the Microsoft Excel Computer Program during the 7th Student Technologist and Entrepreneur of the Philippines (STEP) Regional Skills Development and Competition of the Department of Education (DepEd), held at the Marigondon National High School in Lapulapu, Cebu City last Oct 23-25. Emilee is also the newly-elected kagawad of the Sangguniang Kabataan in San Isidro district this city. She is the youngest daughter of City Councilor Dandan Bantugan and Merly Bantugan.
 

The Tagbilaran City Science High School bagged anew the 1st prize on Spreadsheet Bookkeeping using Microsoft Excel computer program.

John Ariel Lagura, TCSHS principal bared that Ma. Emilee D. Bantugan, a fourth year student bested 14 other high school students during the Student Technologist and Entrepreneur of the Philippines (STEP) Regional Skills Development and Competition held in Marigondon National High School in Lapulapu City on October 23-25, 2007.

There were ten fourth year high school students from TCSHS who joined the different categories in the said competition and all of them got the top ten places.

Tension filled the venue as the three teams fought each with impressive performances in their stands. Garnering a total of 586 points as top mark, the BWS team proceeded to the final stage to match BILC who earned 565 points.

The final proposition was on the pushing through of the Oil Exploration in Cabilao, Loon.

   

The speakers from the BWS team, who again drew the lot for the affirmative side, presented very striking constructive speeches that earned the attention of both audience and judges from the very start.

They are Rona Marie Namocatcat, 3rd Placer on Home Technology; Deborah Ann Lumantas, 3rd Placer on Entrepreneurship; King Karl Seroje, 4th Placer on Industrial; Carlo Christopher Lilis, 4th Placer on Power Point Presentation; Bon Rayan Butawan, 4th Placer on ICT Assisted Project Proposal; Nicklaus Batausa, 5th Placer on Homepage Development; Teepu Cedi Cambar, 8th Placer on Residential House Wiring; Gladys Bullecer, 9th Placer on Agricultural Technology and Janell Stephanie Dano,9th Placer on Newsletter Using Desktop Publishing.

The delegates were accompanied by Rolando Doblas and Jenelou Israel as team coaches. Bantugan will be joining the STEP national competition on Nov. 19 to 25 in Davao City.
