Barely a week after
the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections, the fight
for the presidency of the Liga ng mga Barangay and the Federated
SK is on.
Although
the elections will not be called until late December or January
next year, this early, names have surfaced as contenders for
the posts that earn its holder a seat at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan
as ex officio member.
Reports
reaching the Chronicle bared that former provincial board
member and recently elected barangay captain Concepcion Lim
of Valencia town is eyeing the presidency of Liga ng mga Barangay.
If
she wins in her bid, Lim can serve again at the provincial
board which she served for three consecutive terms that ended
last June.
However,
Lim will be facing incumbent Liga president Dr. Romulo Cepedoza,
having been re-elected barangay captain of Poblacion, Danao
town. He will be seeking a full term as president of the barangay
captain's league.
It
may be recalled that Cepedoza assumed the presidency last
year after the death of then Liga president Cariso Camacho.

Meanwhile,
a tough race also looms for the provincial federated
SK presidency as three hopefuls have emerged.
Incumbent
SK federated president Frances Bobbith Cajes may be
bowing out but her younger sister, Jean Censoria Cajes
might be taking over.
Elected
as SK chairman of barangay Guinobatan, Trinidad town,
the younger Cajes will be running with a well-oiled
Cajes political machine - with the blessings of her
parents, Second District Rep. Roberto Cajes and Trinidad
Mayor Judith Cajes.

Another
younger daughter was also elected as SK chairman in another
barangay of Trinidad.
Cajes'
contender is the daughter of Loay Mayor Mae Lim-Imboy and
Philippine Councilors League (PCL)-Bohol president Kag. Brigido
Imboy who is also eyeing the federated SK presidency.
Rochelle
Brigitte Imboy was elected as SK chair of barangay Calvario,
Loay.
She
is likely to win the Loay federated SK, according to reports,
as majority of the 24 elected SK chairmen are allied with
Mayor Imboy.
Another
contender for the SK presidency that has surfaced is Ma. Fe
Cadeliña, daughter of Bilar Mayor Fanuel Cadeliña.
With
reports that her bid is allegedly backed by Manila-based businessman
Angelo Balili, then the provincial federated SK elections
will be a tough three-cornered fight.
