With
less than a month before their respective crucial fights here
and abroad, Bohol's ring sensation and the reigning world
flyweight Nonito Donaire Jr., world title contenders Rey "Boom
Boom" Bautista and AJ "Bazooka" Banal have
just entered the crucial stage of their preparations at the
ALA Gym in Cebu City.
The
24-year-old Donaire who traces his roots to the progressive
town of Talibon, Bohol is stepping up his training for his
Dec. 1 defense against mandatory challenger Luis Maldonado
at the Foxwoods Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut, USA.
Nonito Donaire Sr., is personally supervising his General
Santos City-raised Fil-Am son at the world-class gym of boxing
patron Antonio L. Aldegue.

Donaire
will serve as commentator to the Juan Manuel Marquez-Rocky
Juarez WBO superfeatherweight showdown today.
The
Candijay, Bohol-native Bautista who is an adopted son
of boxing-loving Tagbilaran City, has increased the
tempo of his sparring sessions as he braces for his
important comeback fight against the dangerous Antonio
Meza of Mexico in the mainer of the Dec. 2 boxing card
at the Araneta Coliseum. Bautista (23-1, 17 KOs) is
aching for a big win against Meza (23-2, 16KOs).

The
Ermita, Cebu-raised Banal who is undefeated in 16 fights with
one draw and 12 KOs will go up against the more seasoned Mexican
