
Police uncovers syndicate victimizing
vet pensioners

Police
operatives caught red-handed the prime suspect behind
a syndicate victimizing Boholano pensioners of the
Philippine Veterans Affairs Office (PVAO) of their
pensions.
The suspect identified as Danilo Surigao, 52, a
resident of Toledo City, Cebu was caught in the
act |
of
receiving P30,000 marked money from one Paula Peligro,
77, a pensioner from barangay Cansiwang, Guindulman town
during an entrapment operation at the Development Bank
of the Phil. (DBP) last Tuesday.

Ubay
police chief faces raps for theft

A
contractor of the Bohol Irrigation Project Stage 2 (BHIP-2)
is filing charges of theft against the chief of the
Ubay PNP who is allegedly involved in the pilferage
and robbery of P20-million worth of heavy equipment
in Ubay town.
Aside
from the criminal complaint, Ubay police chief P/Supt.
Eduardo Saavedra is also facing administrative charges
for grave misconduct and serious irregularity in the
performance of his duty filed by Bohol PNP Director
P/SSupt. Edgardo Ingking at the National Police Commission
(Napolcom) regional office.

November 24, as the 20th edition of the prestigious
Alturas Drum & Bugle Corps Showdown brings together
for one spectacular day the best drum corps in the region.
Billed
as the greatest show in town, this year's showdown features
eighteen contingents in a competition contested in three
categories: Category A for more seasoned drum corps
most of which are outside Bohol; and Category B and
C for high school and elementary drum corps, respectively.

Dagupan radioman shot, wounded
DAGUPAN CITY. A radio announcer was shot and wounded by
two motorcycle-riding men near his house beside the De
Venecia Highway here on Friday night, police said.
Allan Sison, 41, was hit twice in the chest and right
armpit, according to Supt. Dionisio Borromeo, Dagupan
police chief.
Sison
was taken to the Dagupan City Trauma Center, where he
underwent surgery. Doctors on Saturday said Sison was
out of danger.
