Boracay
Regency to open in Panglao
Panglao,
which continues to draw tourists, will soon have the
so-called "international standard" resort
with the entry of Boracay Regency. Construction will
commence in June next year.
Chairman
Henry O. Chusuey of Boracay Regency Beach Resort told
the Chronilce that his group is bullish for the expansion
project here knowing the attraction Bohol holds in the
tourism industry.
The
resort to be known as the Bohol Regency Resort, Inc.
targets to construct 150 rooms in its first phase of
development, setting completion within 20 months.

"It
will be a high-end resort," Chusuey said assuring that
service and cuisine will meet the standards of a classy resort.

The
assurance of quality service and excellent cuisine is
a welcome note to the local tourism industry since some
resorts are receiving criticisms on poor service and
lousy cuisine. Tourists claim they are usually being
short-changed of the high room rates charged by most
resorts in Panglao.
The
resort will be located between Dauis and Panglao with
a 4.5 hectare property in barangay Dao, Dauis and barangay
Libaong, Panglao.

With
its huge area, the concept design will have 70 percent open
space with rooms and other facilities facing the white sandy
shorelines making Regency a premium resort in the island with
a swimming pool sprawling on a 1,500 sq meter span.
Its
resort in Boracay, built in 1998 started with 40 rooms and
has expanded to more than 200 rooms.
The
construction work will be hiring no less than 400 Boholano
workers, the chairman assured.
Bohol
Regency Resort, Inc will complement the existing 1,055 rooms
in Panglao and 917 rooms in the city.
