Panglao road fund assured

The central road in Panglao is assured of funding from the national government in line with the construction of an international airport.

Rep. Edgar Chatto, chair of the House committee on tourism said that Pres. Arroyo approved the allocations, instead of waiting for fund assistance project either from Japan or Korea.

The central road budget is earmarked at P185 million while the two causeways leading to the island was also appropriated P80 million, the one in Mansasa side and the other along sitio Ubos, this city.

The two bridges linking Panglao island to the city was given a separate budget by the national government, according to Chatto.

Work will commence next year as the airport construction targets completion by April 2010.

The solon was able to convince the President to hasten the work as this is a basic part in the development of Panglao with an international airport therein.
